3 Steps to Success: Reflect, Plan, and Reach Out

It’s the busiest time of the year, but also the most important time to slow down.

I’ve seen way too much road rage this past week, parking in the plazas is a nightmare, and my feed is still flooded with shopping links.

I know there’s a lot to do and get ready for over the holidays, I just stocked up on some grocery supplies and haven’t even started on gifts.

But if you wait until Jan 1st to try to get organized for the New Year, you’ll be behind already.

This is the best time of year to get ready, since we’re not really doing new things.

Here’s how I’m finding time NOW to prepare for the next busiest time of the year lol.

Does it ever slow down?! No, so let’s go!

STEP ONE: REFLECT

BEFORE you jump into a New Year New Me plan, let’s look back.

What was successful this year?

If we’re talking health & fitness, what did you accomplish? Did you lose a few lbs? Did your deadlift go up?

I was being hard on myself for not lifting heavier, but then I realized I PR’d my 5km run, Murph, and Isabel while losing & keeping off 12lbs.

Funny how a bit of perspective changes things!

Where did you miss the mark?

We always wish we could have done more.

What do you feel like you could have improved and want to make a priority next year?

STEP TWO: PLAN

Now that you know what you want to accomplish, you can make a plan.

Build out your schedule for the year, including any big trips or hiccups that you anticipate.

I’m super excited to be getting a big wall calendar to map out our family schedule for the year, and I’ll share a pic once it’s done!

At Radix, we map out an entire year of programming for our CrossFit classes and Personal Programming Clients.

Open in Feb? 10km in May? Strongman/woman in the Summer?

Having a big goal to train for keeps you motivated THROUGH the holidays, rather than wasting the next 3 weeks on junk food and couch surfing.

Our Holiday Schedule is up on the RadixGym app and we’ll be posting at-home versions of all the WODs online, so there will be no excuses to not hit 10-20 minutes of movement each day, even when its -12 degrees!

I use a google spreadsheet (or 5) to plan out my life, just reply to this email if you want a copy!

STEP THREE: REACH OUT

Making a plan is actually super easy.

You can ask chatgpt for a meal plan or workout program.

But it can’t do the work for you.

It’s not going to email you every week to see how your training went.

It’s not going to give you a high-five or send a fire emoji on your squat weight in the RadixGym app.

The hard part is showing up.

But as soon as you do that, we take care of the rest for you.

We send your workouts. Your meals. And your high-fives.

Accountability is the #1 factor in determining your success.

Following through on the plan.

And the motivation that comes from having a Community of Like-Minded People Getting Results alongside you is un-match-able.

Having a TEAM that believes in you will get you the best results, guaranteed.

Just ask Anne, who took 20+ minutes off her Hyroz time in less than a year and qualified for the World Championships.

Or Richard, who lost 100lbs and is training for a 16km trail race this spring.

Or Cat and Chelsea who went from zero to 5+ strict pull-ups this year.

Or Coach Julie, who back-squatted 1.5 times her bodyweight at 55 years old.

Moms like Brenda and Sarah(s) rocking kipping pull-ups and heavy weights.

Or guys like Mark and Nick, who are still PRing their bench press after 10+ years of training, with 2 kids and busy jobs.

Plus, I guarantee there will be a dozen women deadlifting over 200lbs in the gym tomorrow, and many more stories of strong people doing strong stuff.

So wherever you are in your fitness journey, I’d love to hear from you:

1-3 things you’re leaving BEHIND in 2025.

1-3 things you SMASHED in 2025.

1-3 things you’re GOING ALL IN ON in 2026.

For me, it’s leaving behind foods that aren’t serving my health needs ATM, chasing strength & serving twice as many people with nutrition coaching through a new & improved 8 Week Challenge experience!

I would LOVE to hear from you what you’re ditching and chasing this upcoming year!

And yes, I’ll see you in the gym over the Holidays!

Coach Rach

P.S. I am officially turning off my booking calendar from Wed Dec 2th until Mon Jan 5th, BUT I will still be making/taking phone calls and of course replying to your emails & messages, so if you want to chat PLEASE reach out and we will connect at some point!

Don’t wait til Jan! Take the time now to reflect, plan, and reach out 🙂
