3 Ways To Get MORE PROTEIN

Protein Protein Protein! Let that word run circles in your brain! Protein in the MOST important macro nutrient and the one you’re probably getting all wrong.

The biggest mistake I see made with my nutrition clients when they come to me is undereating protein. Such an interesting phenomena as it’s the most important macronutrient when it comes to building muscle and recovering from workouts as well as keeping you satiated and not overeating carbs and fats, protein helps you get the body you want.

That being said, getting enough protein on a daily basis is not easy, if we’re going by a general 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body weight per day, a lean 180 pound man would need 180 grams of protein per day. That takes a bit of work and planning to make happen.

Let me help you out with these 3 ways to get MORE protein in your diet.

  1. Make it a Priority- This may sound like common sense but clearly it’s not when 99.9% of my clients need to be told to make this mindset adjustment. Making sure that each meal and snack you have has a source of complete protein is your first step to meeting your protein needs. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack the main focus is the protein first.

  2. Snack Right- When we think of a snack we think about mindlessly chomping on potato chips or a bag of M&M’s, NO NO NO, 1 cup of 2% Cottage Cheese packs a 30 gram Protein Punch! Same with a cup of 2% Greek Yogurt! Mix in some Almond Butter and a Scoop of Collagen Protein and you’re at 45 grams! Snack right and you’ll add another 60 grams of protein per day.

  3. Protein on Protein- Think about using a couple different sources per meal. Like Bacon and Eggs at Breakfast or Turkey and Cheese on a Sandwich or Steak on Steak for dinner 😉 All these meals will pack a BIG Protein Punch and help you hit those daily amounts!

BONUS- If you’re NOT a BIG eater then this gets a bit tougher but you can supplement with a high quality Whey, Beef or Vegan Protein powder to help you fill in the gap you are missing. Make sure your protein powder isn’t filled with artificial ingredients and your stomach will thank you.Take a second and watch our NEWEST YOUTUBE EPISODE ALL ABOUT PROTEIN BELOW!
