New Training Cycle

Week 1 of the NEW CYCLE started off with a BANG! Karen is a real b**** and I get it, she makes your legs hurt! But guess what? She also pulls you our of your comfort zone both mentally and pysically and it’s exactly why I started this cycle with 150 Wallballs for time.

Why is Karen so bad? Well there’s no break, there’s no skipping or toes2bar to save your legs from the repeated same motion of squatting, in reality we do at least a 100 Wallballs in every workout we do with them but its broken into sets with other exercises to spread the trauma out. That volume mixed with no breaking or when you do break you’re just wasting time, makes for a hard hit to the legs and you mental capacity to push through the pain.

If she made you sore then you have a weak link in your fitness armour and you should work on it, if you broke too often or for too long at a time then you need to work on your mental fortitude.

Coach Ty has done Karen unbroken with a 20 pound wallball so we pulled him completely out of his comfort zone by using the 30 pound wallball (physical challenge) but he’s smart and was going to do manageable sets of 10 the whole way through, NOT ON COACH DAN’s watch! I added an extra mental piece to the puzzle, he had to do the first set with as big of a unbroken set as possible so he a got a score for max reps unbroken and his time to 150 reps. 

He did 50 unbroken and 7:07, and amazing feat of wallball capacity and mental fortitude.

That’s the type of mental resilience I’m looking for to make you a stronger more capable human in other aspects of your life, don’t turn your back on the challenge, accept it and walk straight into the storm, with your head up and ready to go!

Leo messaged me at midnight after Karen. Here’s what he texted me
“Hey man, why would you do this to me, pause back sqauts, karen and pistols?! I can’t walk.”
“I hope your phone is on and I’m waking you up right now “
“I keep messaging you just to wake you up for what you’ve done”

hahahaha My phone is on airplane mode… Coach Dan always sleeps well after knowing everyone did Karen!!!
