Dan & Rachael met at a gym, where she worked, and he wanted to learn CrossFit. He brought her cheese, she taught him to walk on his hands, and the rest is history!
While competing in martial arts, Dan also began coaching strength and conditioning for his fellow fighters, friends and family. He put his fitness and nutrition courses to good use, spending 7 years working out of his basement, then garage, building up a great group of fit clients, including phenomenal youth athletes and professional boxers.
After years of teaching swim lessons and Aquafit classes, Rachael started coaching CrossFit just a few months after she started training herself. Through 6 years of working with all ages and ability levels, and taking courses in strength training, gymnastics, and nutrition, Rachael figured out her ideal client and coaching model to bring to Radix. She loves teaching women how to lift weights and train purposefully, and eat well without going nuts!
Together, they opened Radix Performance Centre in Oakville, Ontario. Beginning in July 2015, the gym includes a Boxing & K1 Kickboxing program, CrossFit RPX affiliate, Sabaria School of Weightlifting, fitness classes and personal training.
In their free time, they enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities – hiking the Niagara Escarpment, swimming at the cottage, and travelling to exciting places like Iceland.
